Blue Juice has been officially chosen as the video production partner to the Virgin Kitesurfing Armada, a festival for kitesurfers and fans of the sport.
The weekend-long festival is held on Hayling Island off the South Coast of England and brings the kitesurfing community together for kiting, music, camping, fundraising and record breaking. Since it started running, the event has broken three Guinness World Records and raised more than £120,000 for charity.
We have been asked to produce video content for the event, which will take place on the first windy weekend out of 18 September, 2 October or 16 October. We’ll be editing videos to release during the build up to the Armada as well as filming and live-mixing footage for a giant screen at the festival. We will also create post-event videos with updates on everything that took place across the weekend.
Although it’s the third year Blue Juice has been asked to cover the event, this will be the first time we manage all aspects of video production for the Kitesurfing Armada. Given its reputation among kitesurfers as one of the best UK events out there and the big brand names sponsoring, (it’s supported by Virgin, Volvo, and a host of industry brands), we’re chuffed to be chosen as the video media partner.
Virgin’s Richard Branson has it in his diary and we hope to be interviewing him again for the event videos. But he’s not the only big cheese going along – Blue Juice’s own founder, Craig Sawyer, will be taking to the water to try and break a record or two. Speaking about the project, Craig said: “This is a fun and action-packed event that’s full of energy, so it’s a dream job for all of us at Blue Juice. Not only do I love kitesurfing, we get a kick out of producing live event videos and watching all the fantastic footage after the event. On a personal level, I’m thrilled we’ve been asked to come back. Professionally it’s a great opportunity to show how Blue Juice can manage filming, live mixing and post-production for large-scale events. We’re really looking forward to meeting the kitesurfers and working with other companies like Into the Blue PR agency to spread the word about this great event.”
Dan Charlish, who heads up the Virgin Kitesurfing Armada, added: “Working with Blue Juice is great for promoting the Armada and for giving those who attend great footage to watch long after they get home. There’s no doubt the videos they produce have contributed to the awareness of the event and the amount of money we can raise for our charities. Their ability to capture the feel of what’s going on and turn around the editing for live feeds on the huge screen is fantastic – last year it was a one of highlights off the water. We can’t wait to see what they pull out of the bag this time!”
